Robbie Wooten and Craig Distl won the CGRA Four-Ball Championship in Myrtle Beach.
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Craig Distl, of Distl Public Relations, and Robbie Wooten, of Impact Golf Marketing, beat Ronnie Musselwhite, of Golfstyles Atlanta, and Trent Bouts, with the Carolinas Golf Course Superintendents Association and SouthCarolina Magazine, on the first play-off hole of the 36-hole Four-Ball Championship. Distl made the winning par after a chipping to within two feet from about 40 yards out. It was the team's second Four-Ball title. They also won in the Myrtle Beach area in 2003.

Distl's was a brave effort after Wooten effectively drove himself out of contention with a lost ball off the tee. Neither Musselwhite nor Bouts could find the green with their approaches from the middle of the fairway, even with pitching wedges. Only Distl was able to scramble home in regulation.

Many thanks to the staff and membership at the Members Club at Grande Dunes for their outstanding hospitality. The Nick Price/Craig Schreiner course that opened last year continues to mature and while the wind Tuesday was enough to make anyone want to take up chess or macrame, the course and the service were first-class. Best wishes to Angelo Bulone who was forced to withdraw after round one because of a back injury.
