Attention Laborers of Golf and Lovers of Charleston ... The LPGA is coming to RiverTowne Country Club, Mount Pleasant, S.C., in the form of the $2.6 million Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika Sorenstam, May 31-June 3.
In a small effort to gain your attention for the next 20 weeks -- or the first 14 tournaments of the LPGA schedule -- representatives of Belvidere Resorts have agreed to sponsor a “pick-your-team” competition in which the winning media representative can win a golf weekend vacation in Mount Pleasant. Basically, you pick a three lady team and watch your team compete as they earn points in the first 14 LPGA events.
See the link to the entry form in the box above. Completed forms should be faxed or e-mailed to CGRA member Pete Wofford, who has volunteered to be the point-gatherer.
Pete's contact information:
Fax to 843-856-3586 or e-mail to peterwofford@comcast.net.
Enjoy and good luck.
The $10 entry fee helps pay for relocation of the Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame and is payable prior to the start of the Ginn Tribute on May 31.

Mark your calendars for the 2006 CGRA Two-Person Championship at Wild Dunes Resort in Charleston, S.C., on Wednesday, October 18 and Thursday, October 19. This event will coincide with the new Nationwide Tour event on the new Ralston Creek Course at Daniel Island that starts on the Thursday.
The CGRA will arrange media accreditation to the Nationwide Tour event and also arrange a press conference and interview opportunities with Nationwide Tour representatives.
This is the first of what we plan as a new system of coupling our events with significant events in Carolinas golf. Hopefully, this will provide better opportunities for our members to do their jobs and also increase incentive for participation in the CGRA and its activities.
Accommodation on the night of October 18 for the event at Wild Dunes is at the acclaimed Boardwalk Inn and golf will be on the highly-rated Links Course. The field will be capped at 16 teams, which is to say 32 players.
